When the Black Pearl engages the Interceptor the pirates ignite the powder kegs causing the Interceptor to explode completely. The explosion is followed by an areal shot of the island and a clear view of the Black Pearl and the Interceptor fully intact, mast and all, though it just exploded. It is not seen in the next shot of Elizabeth Swann walking the plank.
