When Ray and Emma arrive at the San Andreas Fault and are unable to continue because of the large gap, the fault is depicted basically as a lateral-slip fault. The major error was made in the direction of the plate movement. The western plate moves NNW and the eastern plate (mainland) SSE. The road across the gap should have been displaced to the right instead of the left.
