Many goofs here complains about wrong continuity. In fact, the editing style of the movie often uses technique known as "time squeeze" for faster unwinding of the action. In these scenes they are cutting out minor details (such as paying for drink, putting fins on, taking off stethoscope, unfolding stock of the rifle, arriving of Lai's father's car in the final sequence and so on).
