When Caesar pursues Aldo up into the trees toward the end of the film, several close-ups of Aldo looking about in panic have other gorilla faces in the background, indicating they were just re-used footage from the initial confrontation on the ground. Shots of other apes supposedly watching the chase in the trees are similarly re-used footage, as the watching apes are looking as if at ground level, not looking up into the trees.
