King Island borders New Brunswick Canada and Maine, United States in the Saint John River - not Quebec, Canada. Also King Island is very small and would not house a ranger as it would be too small for housing due to the water saturating the grounds in winter and destroying the house or station. The area of King Island is less than 20 meters (60 ft) in length and roughly 50 meters (150 ft) from the New Brunswick border where RTE 144, a highway system runs beside the river. King Island is roughly 200 meters (600 ft) from the Maine border with the closest town of Bellefleur, New Brunswick - about a mile away.
