After Eddie's first mission to England he is awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class by Field Marshal von Rundstedt, who then sends him to his tailor for a new uniform. In the next scene Eddie is shown wearing the Iron Cross 1st Class below the left pocket of his uniform tunic. The Iron Cross 2nd class was only displayed on a German uniform as a ribbon worn through a buttonhole (which Eddie also shows.) Also, the Iron Cross was a progressive award. To win the 1st Class he would first need the 2nd and then perform an additional act of valor. He should not be wearing the 1st Class award.
