Chango shoots the flamethrower's propane tank that Travis is wearing, resulting in a huge fireball, the force of which is sufficient enough to launch Travis many feet through the air. This could only happen if the tank suffered a massive and catastrophic rupture, releasing the gas contained inside rapidly. This would not occur if all that happened was that the bullet created a bullet-sized hole in the tank, as that would simply eject a flame-like a butane lighter and would not result in a huge fireball. When Dwayne rushes over to put Travis's burning clothes out however, the tank is still completely intact.
