At the beginning of the film, Mrs. Elrod is watching a news report about the murders; this takes place in front of the well lit Wallace house with pumpkin on the porch. Later, Laurie is being placed in the ambulance; if one looks carefully to the left of the screen, one can see that the Wallace house is dark, void of reporters, and there;s no pumpkin on the porch.
