As shown during the story at other times (Marty seeing himself playing at the dance and Doc handing himself a tool) 2 entities can exist in the same time. Therefore the gasoline that leaked out of the DeLorean that brought Marty back to the old west shouldn't have been a problem. Doc Brown could have gone to the one he boarded up in the abandoned mine which should still be there with a tank of gas.
