During the stakeout scene, after the first robber pulls out his shotgun, Early is seen reaching for his Colt Diamondback revolver on a shelf under the check-out counter before freezing because the shotgun is pointed directly at him. After ordering Early to "Get on your knees!" and just before Harry shoots the robber from behind the two way mirrored window, the camera pans down, following Early and the handle of his revolver is clearly visible on the top of the counter. Also, just before Harry shoots through the glass, the female clerk is standing between his line of fire and the robber. In the edit just before Harry pulls the trigger, the clerk has vanished, giving him a clear shot. Finally, in the same scene, there is no sign that either Harry or the uniformed officer have sustained any hearing damage from the discharge of a .44 magnum in the tightly enclosed space. Both men's eardrums would very likely have ruptured from the blast.
