At 14.03 Swagger says that the shot will take 6 to 10 seconds to hit its target. Maybe in the year 1707 that could have happened, but even then that was slow.The average speed (velocity) of the projectile (bullet) would be around 1200-1500 meters per second, so 2000 meters (2 km or 1 and a quarter mile) would take a second and a half at most, and probably less.
