When Aragorn mounts the horse Brego at the river, the horse's lead rope is dangling from the halter. It looks very clean, not like a lead that has been dragged on the ground for days or weeks. Though Aragorn is weak, he is evidently able to reach forward and tie the loose end of the rope back to the halter to make reins. Later, after he sees the Orc army approaching and gallops toward Helm's Deep, you can see that Brego's mouth is lathered, and when they stop on the hilltop it's very clear that there is a bit in his mouth. Where did that come from?
