Ford tells his workers "In 1899, my grandfather... had himself an idea that changed the world. 65 years... later", which would set the movie in 1964. However, Iacocca's later pitch to Ford ("1945 our soldiers came home... Seventeen years later those kids have grown up".) sets the movie in 1962.
