The engine exhausts of the computer-animated Boeing 707 Clippers frequently produce flames during takeoff. Real 707 engines did not spit flames during normal operation; this is an embellishment for dramatic effect. (The unusually shaped scalloped exhausts on early 707 engines were a noise control measure that's unnecessary with modern high-bypass turbofan jet engines; they have nothing to do with flames.)
