When Roger is about to shoot the zombie that broke through glass in the truck, the top two bullet holes are already visible, most notably the one on the right. It is a black slit that opens up when he's shot. If you pause just before he gets shot, and look very closely over his right eyebrow, you can see what looks like two pieces of filament that disappear with each shot, most likely what was used to pull the bullet holes open.
