When Hutch drives the van into the bronze statue of Captain Kirk and Khan in Iowa, the statue is broken into several pieces revealing a white center at the broken edges. However, at the scene where Admiral Seasholtz screams out just before kissing the broken head of Khan, you can see that all the broken edges are bronze like the rest of the statue.
