Data's emotion chip was introduced in "Brothers," and appeared again in "Descent." Its appearance there was visually not similar to what is seen in Generations. It was also shown being installed in Lore, Data's identical "brother," in a port beneath his right ear. As this was done while Lore was disguised as Data, and the installation was performed by their creator, Dr. Soong, Data and Lore must have identical construction in regards to the port for the emotion chip. Yet in this movie, the chip is inserted into a port on top of Data's head, not beneath his right ear.
