Elizabeth speaks German to Charles II, Archduke of Austria. There is no historical evidence that Elizabeth spoke German. If they didn't converse in English, they likely would have done so in Spanish, since Elizabeth had learned the language and one branch of the Hapsburg family was Spanish.
