(at around 11 mins) Upon seeing the Illuminati sign, Langdon says: "Ambigram. Same, read backwards and forwards." He then flips the sign upside down to show it still looks the same. A palindrome can be read backwards and forwards, an ambigram can be read from different perspectives (in this case, right side up and upside down).
