When the Decepticons sink the carrier, the hull number changes from 74 (the USS John C. Stennis, the ship Simmons radios for the rail gun fire mission) to 72 (the USS Abraham Lincoln) and then back to 74. News reporters later identify it as the USS Theodore Roosevelt, whose hull number is 71.
