The movie ended in the first Halloween film with the sound of Michael Myers breathing heavily and varying shots of where he acted out his reign of terror on Laurie Strode and her friends. One was of the front of the Wallace residence, the misshapen jack-o'-lantern on the porch dimly illuminated. Halloween II is supposed to be a direct continuation of "The Night He Came Home", but when Annie's body is being taken away the pumpkin in front of the house is full and well-lit.
