Though the film is meant to take place at least after L'era glaciale 3 - L'alba dei dinosauri, Peaches, the daughter of Manny and Ellie, is noticeably absent even though she was born in said movie. Furthermore, if the film takes place after L'era glaciale 5 - In rotta di collisione, the characters Shira and Brooke are also missing without any explanation or mention of them.
