The rifles carried by the ROTC drill team in the parade are WWII-era M-1 Garands. Yet a few frames after Neidermeyer grabs one of these rifles he is seen loading a WWI-era M1917 Lee-Enfield. This switch was likely done because the clip-fed M1 cannot be manually loaded like Neidermeyer is doing without the use of a special device not in ordinary issue.
