In the briefing for the President, the line Jack Hall draws on the map changes shape in every single scene it's shown.
When he first draws the line it bisects Maryland and passes between Washington DC and Baltimore, the next image shows it's moved 120 km south and ALL of Maryland is now above the line (including DC), the 3rd image shows its now about halfway between the first two (and has an northward bulge to the west), and the last scene has a noticeable SOUTHWARD bulge to the west.
