In the film's climax, our heroes find a room filled with what are, apparently, things from Norman Bates' youth. One such item is a vinyl record of Beethoven's Eroica. But this is a standard, modern, 33 1/2 12" LP. If it were from Norman's youth, it most likely would've been a 10" shellac record. By the time 12" LPs rolled around in 1948 (and it took even longer for them to go mainstream), Norman would've already been an adult.
