When Harry comes to the train station there are numbers showing the platforms. There are two number 10 and two number 9 platforms on each side of the platforms, with a separation between the pillars. The ticket did not specify which side of the platform to use. Muggles have two different trains with different designations, usually going in different directions/locations.
