Elvis would never have referred to James Dean as "Jimmy Dean". Jimmy Dean was a highly popular country music singer who had his own variety show in the sixties and would play a key role in a 1971 James Bond film. In addition, at time that the Hollywood sign scene was set, he had just launched the Jimmy Dean brand of breakfast sausage and was a familiar face in television advertising.
