In his only photograph with Boris, it is clearly visible Vardhan is a middle aged man in his late 30s before being betrayed by Singhania and Don. While escaping assassination attempts by the two, making it back to India and even forging identity papers might have been a possibility, it is completely impossible Vardhan at that point of age could have been recruited into the Indian Police.
