Almost throughout the movie, Curtis handles his Colt .45 pistol in a wrong, very dangerous manner. He acts as if it were a double action pistol or a revolver, cocking the hammer and putting back the hammer when he decides not to shoot. The Colt .45 is a single action pistol, and, assuming a round was in the chamber, this would all be extremely dangerous. He does handle it correctly in the scene in the hotel, towards the end.
