Dr. Hall is outlined as being unmarried and the only one without a family and therefore is the one they will trust with the keys to deactivate the nuclear self destruct sequence.When they are assembling the team, both Stone and Dutton are shown with families. However Dr. Ruth Leavitt (who is wearing a wedding ring) when picked up, makes no mention of a family or that she has to at least say goodbye to her family.
