When, at the very beginning of the movie, Dale calls at the radio the First Sergeant Shepherd, it says "at zero six one hundred...", military slang meaning 6 a.m.
But in any place in the world at 6 a.m. the shadows (of the trees, for example) would be very long on the ground, and the day not so bright and the scene fully illuminated; while in the specific scene the shadows of the objects are very short, and there's a full day illumination, i.e. the sun is very high on the horizon, like if the real time is around 11 am (or 1-2 pm), more or less.
