Laura reports 'people' in David's bedroom, and later claims they poisoned him. There is no evidence of either, but a police officer takes her claims seriously. It seems inconceivable that Laura would not mention that she escaped from a cult while pregnant with David, or that police would spare a detective apparently to indulge her allegation of crimes with no evidence they even took place.
