When Eva and Maddie are taken to their hotel after arriving at Gran Canaria airport, they are being chauffeured through the middle of the island's capital Las Palmas, passing the famous Santa Ana cathedral before eventually getting to the hotel. This would be an unusual route to take to travel from the airport to the Lopesan Costa Meloneras hotel where the filming took place, as downtown Las Palmas is about 13 miles to the north from the airport, and the Costa Meloneras is more than 20 miles in the exact opposite direction, at the southern end of the island.
