Heather is all the way in the front of the gym before Carrie goes on her rampage, and tries to escape when she sees the blood rising from her body. Immediately after, Carrie sends a massive psychic shockwave across the gym, Heather is clearly only a few feet away from the doors but in the next shot when Carrie notices her trying to escape, she sends another shockwave to fling her across the gym to kill her, she is now in the center of the gym.
