The altimeter in the plane's cockpit is controlled by someone turning the pressure setting knob. This is clearly visible after the engines run out of fuel and the plane starts to descend. The closeup of the altimeter shows the pressure indicator spin with the hand of the altimeter, although it should remain still as the hand is normally moved by the change in the outside atmospheric pressure only.
