When "J" has Dan up on the roof playing Russian roulette for the last time, J puts the gun in Dan's hand and clearly forces it up to Dan's right temple and pulls the trigger killing him. However, when they wheel Dan's body into the morgue for Martha to identify, the massive gunshot wound is now on the left temple. It's not a through and through as there is nothing but bruising on the right side of his head.
