At around 1 hour 8 minutes in the movie one of the creatures jumps off the boat in to the water and flails as it apparently can't swim. It goes under the water and doesn't resurface, presumably drowned. But in A Quiet Place part 1 in the basement scene one of the creatures dives under the water in the flooded basement and resurfaces in front of the babies crib, implying they can swim... or at least manage being under water.
