While shooting the dogfight, a plane clips the camera mounted on Hughes' plane, and brown film spews out. Brown is the hue of undeveloped color film. Gli angeli dell'inferno was shot in black and white; the hue of undeveloped black and white film is either gray or blue. In the next shot the camera mounted on the plane is undamaged.
