Joe Peralez is seen in the hospital after being hit by a car. His head is bandaged. The man escorting him in the hallway of the hospital says he's been sedated. Patients with closed head injuries are never given sedation of any kind. Sedation or pain medication would mask symptoms of a worsening head injury. It's not really clear what the sedation angle adds to the story.
