Francis mentions digging an irrigation canal to his melon patch from the river that is close by, when in fact, K Bar K Ranch's closes water source is Lake Texoma, and that would be a 1.27 mile dig. To reach the river, he would have to dig 17 miles, crossing over a large cove of the lake.
