After Louis Winthorp is released from prison, he tries to enter his house but finds the locks have been changed and the butler will not allow him to enter. The butler even threatens to call the police. In reality, the fact that this has been Winthorp's primary residence for years means that he can't be denied entry unless there is a restraining order or an eviction filed against him. And in that case, he would at least be allowed to collect his property from the building.Whether the Dukes actually own the building is irrelevant. Winthrop simply could wait for the police to show up and show them the address on his driver's license or demonstrate that he resides there any number of different ways. As an attorney, his character should have known this.
