During Lucy's first encounter with Dracula, her nightgown blows in the wind, briefly revealing red modern underwear, but "drawers" were not widely worn in the West until the 1910's. The style of the time would be long, loose pantaloons, or stockings with the crotch left open for easier use of lavatories.
