When Clark and Chris swerve to stay in New Jersey so Chris can confront Jamie, the highway signs read: 24 east to I-78 & Routes1 & 9 East. Routes 1 and 9 only go north and south across the eastern seaboard. The rule of numbered highways in New Jersey are even numbered run east to west, while odd numbered ones run north to south.
