There was no climatic bayonet charge to end the battle. During the predawn darkness of the third day, the NVA attempted attacks against B Company but were repulsed with ease. By dawn the NVA, greatly weakened by heavy casualties and loss of weapons, gradually retreated into the mountains and the fight petered out.
