After Temple kills Trigger, she immediately tries to take her hat (that he previously grabbed) out if his clenched fist, but she struggles to Do so because the fist is so tightly clenched. The problem is, immediately after being killed, Trigger's hand couldn't possibly tightly hold onto her hat; it would have been completely relaxed with no possible voluntary clenching of the fist. That would only have been possible once rigor mortis sets in, but it takes hours for that process to even begin, and not the mere few seconds after his death.
