In the latter parts of the movie, several men are shown shirtless. At the time of the setting of the movie, this would have been illegal and considered immoral. Prior to the 1930s, it was against the law in the USA for men to show their nipples in public. Men were required by law to cover their chests. Men would never have appeared in public with bare chests.
