Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd was caught at a farm, but did not die at the farm. Instead of trying to carjack the farmers, he had actually gotten out of a car after getting a lift from town. He spotted lawmen, fired and was wounded by a local sheriff. He got up and ran toward the tree line, at which point, sheriff's deputies, FBI agents led by Melvin Purvis and local police all opened fire and got him at the tree line.
