When the pirate spacecraft explodes just before it engulfs the US spacecraft, because of its close proximity to the craft, any accelerating shrapnel from the explosion would have pierced the hull of the US craft, thereby causing damage and possible endangerment to that craft and its occupants. Yet there is not a scratch nor mention or show of concern of the status of the craft by the Hawaiian tracking station or CapCom.
