Near the beginning of the film, Collie Entragian shoots Peter Jackson through the stomach at the bottom of the stairs to the Police building, killing him. As it cuts to Peter falling over dead, you can clearly see the explosive blood packets attached to Peter's back which were used to create the blood splatters against the wall behind him as he was shot.
