Mr. Bean's camcorder is a Sony DCR-HC44E/HC46E/HC94E/HC96E (it could be any one of these, but this is an error regardless of which one it is). It is a MiniDV (digital videotape) camcorder. Although the film correctly depicts it as not tapeless, anytime we see Bean rewind or fast-forward it, we see horizontal "tracking lines," which would only happen on an analog camcorder (like a Hi8 camcorder). A MiniDV rewind/fast-forward would look pixelated.
